Search: Zion Canyon

On the hike up to Angel's Landing we came across a small stand of trees with several molting owls sitting calmly for everyone passing to see.

Halfway up to Angel's Landing are a series of switchbacks, each with a better view than the last, overlooking the Virgin River Valley and the more accessible parts of Zion National Park.

At the end of a long, arduous, wet hike down the Virgin River Narrows in Zion National Park, Roger, Barry, Chris and Julien posed for a panorama amongst the tourists and dayhikers who had no idea the beauty they were missing just a few hours up the canyon.

The first night of our trip to Zion National Park we arrived late, at about 2:30am, to find no campsites available in the park. We backtracked to Springdale and eventually found a spot in a private campground attached to a hotel, more like a parking lot with park benches. Still, it was a place to sleep until the morning, when we had to get our permits for the hike.

Before entering the Narrows we took a nice lunch break in a beautiful canyon - I had a peanut butter sandwich, the rest had mac n' cheese.
